Request for Proposal Process Campus Based Projects for Distance Education University of Alaska Educational Technology Team and Distance Education Steering Board The coordinated distance education efforts at the University of Alaska gets annual funding for campus based projects. These projects are meant to increase the capacity and quality of distance education for the University of Alaska system as a whole, although they will be carried out by existing university units. Each year the following process will be used to allocate funds to projects: 1. The Educational Technology Team specifies the amount of available funds. 2. The Educational Technology Team specifies areas of interest for the next round of projects at their first regular meeting following the announcement of fund availability. 3. The Distance Education Steering Board, with the inclusion of interested ETT members, forms work groups dedicated to each of the interest areas to create design criteria and to solicit project applications. 4. The ETT receives project requests and announces funded projects no later than their next regular meeting following the release of the request for proposals. 5. All projects must submit an annual report to the ETT/DESB Summit.
