1. Use the Teaching and Learning Cycle in my teaching.

Pay more attention to my own use of language in class (e.g. accuracy in
pronunciation & sentence structure, fluency).
3.
Help students to pronounce and spell words correctly.

Construct my lessons in such a way that students have to repeatedly use
key words/phrases in context.
5.
Highlight subject-specific sentence patterns and explain their uses to
students.
6.
Introduce students to subject-specific genres (such as a lab report, an
information report).
7.
Raise students’ awareness of the schematic structure and language
resources for different genres.
8.
Introduce small group activities in class.
9.
Set aside class time for reading textbooks purposefully and provide
language help using strategies (such as visual organisers) to facilitate
reading.
10. Include extended writing tasks with scaffolding.
11. Include extended writing components (beyond labelling, MC, matching
or filling in blanks) in exam/test papers.
12. Collaborate (such as co-planning) with colleagues if possible.
