Form PDARF7: Programme Change Proposal For submission to the Programme Board / Graduate School Board and UPB This form should be used when submitting a proposal from the academic session 2015-16 onwards. Complete this form for changes to existing programmes (the list of types is included below) – advice may be sought from the School and/or College, or via programmes@ucd.ie. Submit to the relevant Programme Board / Graduate School Board for review and recommendation. Pending Programme Board / Graduate School Board recommendation, PDARF7 is then submitted to programmes@ucd.ie for approval by the University Programmes Board (UPB). Where a programme change proposal includes collaboration with an external partner (item 13 below) PDARF4: Collaborative Programme Supplement must also be completed and submitted with this form. Where a programme change proposal requires a derogation from the Academic Regulations (this may apply in particular for items 2-5 below) then the requisite derogation form (PDARF9, PDARF10, or PDARF11) must also be completed and submitted with this form. Types of Programme Change (the relevant type of proposed change should be referenced in section 3 of the form): 1. Change in title to programme, major or minor 2. Change in total overall credits for programme, major or stage 3. Change in total elective credits (undergraduate only) 4. Change to progression requirements or transfer arrangements 5. Change to calculation of Honours for degree award 6. Change to entry and/or admission requirements (including Garda Vetting, Health Screening, Fitness to Practise) 7. Modularisation of existing programme / stage of a programme 8. Newly created stage(s) of a programme 9. Development of an exit/entry programme for an existing approved programme (ex. GradDip to/from existing Masters) 10. Change in governance of programme (between Programme Boards or Graduate School Boards) 11. Change to programme level 12. Discontinuation of programme, major or minor 13. Introduction of inter-institutional exchange or collaboration into existing programme 14. Total Credit Volume of Programme and Programme Duration Please refer to existing credit volume and duration of programme. Nature of Change 3 4 Please state the type of programme change, choosing from the list of options provided in the box above from 1 – 14 (e.g. 1. Change in title to programme). Proposed Start Date 7 Please state when the changes are expected to take effect and what group of students will be affected by the change (e.g. for new intake only, or for existing students in current academic session, etc.). Description and Impact of, and Academic Rationale For, Proposed Change Please explain the rationale and necessity for the proposed change. Please also describe, in detail, how the proposed change will impact the programme, current students, future students, academic and administrative staff and the physical resources of the School/College/University. 8 9 Credit Structure and Indicative Module List Where relevant (e.g. for programme change types 7-9 above) please specify the overall credit structure per stage and indicative list of modules. Proposals which are not signed will not be included on the University Programmes Board (UPB) meeting agenda.
