Title: Cowboy Math Purpose: This game is designed to reinforce multiplication skills to include figuring out missing factors and products. Grade Level/TEKS Reference: 4th grade – 7th grade/ 4.4(B) Number, operation and quantitative reasoning. The student multiplies and divides to solve meaningful problems involving whole numbers. The student is expected to represent multiplication and division problems in picture, word and number form. (C) recall and apply multiplication facts through 12 x 12. Length of time necessary for game or activity: 10 – 15 minutes or longer depending on the skill level of the student. Step 2) Upon entering the cave you will use your mouse to click on the spiders to throw gumballs at them. (This is just for fun.) Step 3) When the spiders leave and the door has a light around it, you can click on the door to enter. A multiplication problem will show up with missing factors and products. In order to get the number you want in the correct space, you will click on the number on the left side of the screen and then click the empty space you want the number to go to. Do this for all the missing numbers. Step 4) When your problem is complete, click on the “Check Lock” sign. If your answers are all correct, you will go to the next door and repeat the process with a new problem. Step 5) Continue process until you solve all problems correctly. Presented by: Joan Diaz (2011)
