Procedures 1. Be in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings. 2. Begin Daily Warm Up/Turn in any homework/late or make up work 3. Students must have their ID on at all times. 4. Have books, paper, pen, pencil, journal everyday. 5. Respect the teacher, fellow classmates, and classroom equipment. 6. Any and all rude behavior will not be tolerated. 7. No food or drinks will be allowed in the classroom. 8. Students must have verbal permission from teacher to leave the classroom. 9. The teacher not the bell will dismiss class. 10. Consequences First offense – verbal warning Second offense – conference with teacher and /or parent contact Third offense – before school or lunch detention with teacher and parent contact 4. Fourth offense – grade level principal referral SEVERE CLAUSE – If a student exhibits severe misbehavior, such as but not limited to, fighting, open defiance of the teacher, vulgar expressions, or conduct that puts anyone in an unsafe environment, then the consequence will be an immediate referral to the grade level principal. When a detention is assigned, the student has 1 day to make arrangements. Failure to show up at the assigned time, will double the detention time. The second no show will result in a referral to the grade level principal. VI. Attendance/Tardy/Late Work Policy 1. It is your responsibility to get assignments when you are absent. Come talk to me before school or after class to get assignments for make-up work. You will have one day for every day you are absent to make up your work. Make-up tests/quizzes must be taken the day you return unless other arrangements have been made. The teacher will assign a “0” on assignments for an absence marked as truant. 2. Late work will receive 10% off for every day assignment is late, not to exceed 4 days! NO EXCEPTIONS! 3. You cannot exceed 10 absences or 20 tardies in one semester. If you have 10 absences you will receive a NO CREDIT for the class. VII. Grades per semester Daily Grades – 25% Writing – 15% Projects and Presentations – 15% Tests – 30% Semester Test – 15% VIII. Important Information 1. Daily assignments must be done in pencil or blue or black ink. Final papers or projects must be typed. Late essays will be marked down 20 points from the final grade each day it is late – not to exceed 2 school days! 2. If you talk, pass notes, cheat, or gesture for any reason while there are tests anywhere in the room, you will receive a zero on your test. No EXCUSES! 3. Students will not be allowed to return to their locker for any reason. They will be allowed to use 2 bathroom passes per quarter with agenda signature.
