Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Plan for court security and services. Range deployment, deportment, prisoner files, receiving office liaison. Performance criteria 1.1 Court fixture list is checked against prison muster sheet in accordance with local operating procedures. 1.2 Location and custody requirements of the prisoner are identified and checked in accordance with established procedures. Range police, court staff, prisons, prisoner lawyers, registrars and forensics. Performance criteria 2.1 Changes in fixture lists, both weekly and daily, are identified and processed in accordance with established procedures and court requirements. 2.2 Court status protocols are identified by court type in accordance with established procedures and court requirements. Range family, high, district, youth. 2.3 Prisoners providing evidence are identified and arrangements made to ensure prisoner is in the correct court room at the required time. 2.4 Court services are liaised with in accordance with established procedures and court requirements. Range 2.5 court registrars, police security, witness protection unit, diplomatic squad. Day to day court operations are managed in accordance with established service level agreements and procedures. Element 3 Supervise prisoner at court. Range corrections officers, prisoner, court staff, witnesses, lawyers in holding cells, in court room, all movements, meetings, court protocols and procedures, transport, secure key press and emergencies, verdict, sentence, bail. Performance criteria 3.1 Prisoner is secured in holding cells in accordance with established safety, and security procedures. 3.2 Status of prisoner is confirmed in liaison with receiving officer and corrections officer. Range verdict, release, bail, remand in custody. 3.3 Prisoner movements are coordinated in accordance with court, safety, and security requirements. 3.4 Prisoner rations are coordinated and allocated. 3.5 Prisoner security is maintained in accordance with established procedures. Element 4 Maintain court security and services documentation. Range log book, muster sheet, fixture list, receiving prisoners, legal documentation, warrants register, daily court data, daily diary and prisoner records. Performance criteria 4.1 Recorded information is complete, concise, accurate, and legible. 4.2 Court information is recorded in the required format and filed within scheduled timeframe according to organisation specifications. 4.3 Ongoing checking of court schedules and information is made in conjunction with court registrars, receiving offices, and unit managers in accordance with established procedures. Please note Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
