People assessed as competent in this unit standard are able to recognise the necessary requirements for protection of information, products, or services; and the retention of that protection. Performance criteria 1.1 New or enhanced telecommunications information, products, or services are registered with relevant agencies. Range 1.2 Confidentiality of telecommunications information, products, or services is agreed with customers, suppliers, and staff. Range 1.3 customers – internal, external. Information relating to new or enhanced telecommunications information, products, or services is available only to authorised personnel. Range 1.4 government, patent. management, developers, or other personnel with a need to know. Telecommunications information, products, or services are physically masked to prevent unauthorised replication. Range encoding, encryption. 1.5 Where joint development of new or enhanced telecommunications information, products, or services occurs, ownership and protection of organisational interest are established and agreed before development begins. 1.6 Documentation relating to new or enhanced telecommunications information, products, or services is filed and maintained in a secure environment. 1.7 Registers are established and maintained of personnel who hold information regarding telecommunications information, products, or services. 1.8 Disposal of sensitive information relating to new or enhanced telecommunications information, product, or service complies with organisational policies and procedures. Element 2 Retain competitive advantage of telecommunications information, products, or services. Performance criteria 2.1 User versions of telecommunication information, products, or services are maintained as current and previous versions are destroyed. New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 4945 version 4 Page 3 of 3 2.2 Confirmation of receipt of telecommunications information, products, or services by users is received and documented in the agreed format by the agreed time. 2.3 Competitor telecommunications information, products, and services are identified and reviewed at regular intervals. Range monthly, two monthly, no less than quarterly. 2.4 Industry advancements and technology in telecommunications information, products, and services are identified and reviewed for effectiveness and efficiency. 2.5 Opportunities for acquisition of competitive information, products, or services are identified and actioned at a time that optimises maximum commercial advantage. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
