requirements. These include documentation of activities, events, and decisions.

professional bodies; and any relevant legislative and/or regulatory requirements,
which include but are not limited to the Health and Safety in Employment Act

Trading Act 1986, and the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, and their subsequent
and delegated legislation.

functionality, practicality, scantlings, aesthetics, and design rules.

Major and minor marine structures referred to in this unit standard include –
structures built in boat building materials.
Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Identify marine design detail requirements.
Performance criteria
1.1
Design drawing(s) are confirmed against classification and design principles.
1.2
Working drawings meet structural requirements and design principles.
Element 2
Produce detail marine drawings and specifications.
Performance criteria
2.1
Detailed drawings match developed designs and client’s requirements.
2.2
Structural and functional specifications are checked against developed designs.
2.3
Working drawings are produced that meet developed design and client’s
requirements.
2.4
Schedules of quantities and cost estimates are produced to meet working
drawings.
Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
