Performance criteria 1.1 Machine safety features are inspected and made safe according to manufacturer’s specifications. Range 1.2 shields, guards, power leads. Cutters are inspected for damage according to manufacturer’s specifications. Range broken teeth, cutter damage. Element 2 Replace cutters. Performance criteria 2.1 Machine is isolated from power source according to worksite procedures. 2.2 Tools selected are suitable for use on the machine according to manufacturer’s specifications. 2.3 Machine is disassembled without damage according to manufacturer’s specifications. 2.4 Cutter is chosen, and the machine reassembled, according to manufacturer’s specifications. Element 3 Set up cutting adjustments for accurate duplication. Performance criteria 3.1 Key guides are adjusted in both X and Y directions to provide accurate duplication. 3.2 Accuracy of adjustment is verified according to industry practice. Performance criteria 4.1 Machine is isolated from power source according to worksite procedures. 4.2 Machine is lubricated according to manufacturer’s specifications. 4.3 Bearings and other moving parts are checked for wear and if necessary replaced, according to manufacturer’s specifications. 4.4 Swarf is removed and the machine is cleaned according to worksite procedures and manufacturer’s specifications. Please note Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
