Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: interpret
company packing requirements; prepare for packing; pack
leather; describe the effects of incorrect finished leather
packing operations; describe operations preceding and

team-work; and comply with company and statutory health,

The completion of lead-in production processes is checked against production
information and confirmed before packing commences.

2.1
Safety checks meet company specifications prior to packaging machinery
operation.
2.2
Machines failing safety checks are reported in accordance with company
specifications.
2.3
Leather batches, packaging equipment, and materials are assembled and
prepared in accordance with company specifications for the type, quantity, and
destination of leather to be packed.
2.4
Leather units and area are checked against customer requirements and
measuring records and discrepancies reported in accordance with company
specifications.
2.5
Bundle and carton size, carton weight, and special packaging instructions are
determined in accordance with company specifications for the type, quantity,
and destination of leather to be packed.
