Special notes None. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Demonstrate knowledge of types of camera shots used for racing broadcasting. Performance criteria 1.1 Camera shots are described according to the framing and subject of the shot. Range wide shot (WS), mid close-up (MCU); New Zealand Qualifications Authority 2016 25932 version 1 Page 2 of 2 may include – extreme close-up (ECU) through to close-up (CU) and mid-shot (MS), long shot (LS). 1.2 Camera shots are described according to their purpose in a sequence. Range 1.3 establishing or safety shot, point of view shot and/or interview (IV), cutaway shot. Camera shots are described in accordance with graphics requirements for positioning and perspective. Range odds market, favoured runners, selections, results. Element 2 Demonstrate knowledge of shots taken at camera positions used for racing broadcasting. Range side one, side two, presentation studio, return to scale, start cam, low down head on, judicial towers. Performance criteria 2.1 Shots taken at trackside television camera positions are described in terms of their contribution to the final production. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
