Rule of Thirds
divides the frame into thirds both horizontally and vertically

Line up the natural lines in your photos to match the lines on the grid
Depth of Field
is a the range of distance from camera defined such that all the objects at
a distance from camera within this range are captured with acceptable
sharpness. Objects outside this zone appear blurred.
F stop
Aperture is the size of the opening that lets light in to be exposed on your CCD
