Evidence of competency in this unit standard cannot be demonstrated under simulated conditions in a training provider environment. 2 Definitions Conference and/or convention refers to a formal meeting or assembly of attendees for consultation, discussion, or for some special or occasional purpose which includes a minimum of 50 attendees, two days duration, and the use of a venue. Incentive is a global management tool that uses a reward to motivate and/or recognise participants for increased levels of performance in support of organisational goals. Project refers to a conference, convention, or incentive. Performance criteria 1.1 Client is informed about financial management issues and responsibilities in accordance with the project brief. 1.2 Agreement negotiated with the client, for systems to control financial management, is consistent with the project brief. Performance criteria 2.1 Preparation of initial budget components is consistent with budgetary parameters contained in the project brief. Range 2.2 fixed and variable costs, contingencies, income, profit and loss. Budget components are assessed in accordance with client priorities. Element 3 Prepare a budget and cash flow for a conventions and incentives industry project. Performance criteria 3.1 Budget is prepared which reflects project budgetary parameters. 3.2 Cash flow is prepared in accordance with the budget. Element 4 Review and modify budget and cash flow for a conventions and incentives industry project. Performance criteria 4.1 Modification of budget reflects changes in the planning process as approved by the client. 4.2 Modification of cash flow reflects actual results compared with predicted results and re-forecasts cash flow. Element 5 Provide final accounts and report to client on a conventions and incentives industry project. Performance criteria 5.1 Final accounts and report are to audit standard and contain a complete record of all financial dealings relating to the project. 5.2 Financial reporting to client contains up-to-date accurate information and is undertaken within agreed time-frames. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
