They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements.

Element 1
Demonstrate knowledge of electronic mapping systems in a gas distribution network.

1.1
Map and plans are accessed and interpreted in terms of company procedures.
Range
cadastral, piping and instrumentation drawings, local body and
other services plans.
1.2
The use of maps and plans in a gas distribution network is explained in relation
to company procedures.
1.3
Storage and access systems for different types of maps and plans are identified
in accordance with company procedures.
Range

computer-aided drawing (CAD) systems, electronic data base,
scanned drawings, digitised drawings.
Electronic sources and formats of maps and plans are identified and explained
in terms of relevance to a gas distribution network.

New maps or plans are identified and stored in accordance with company
procedures.

Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body
with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from
assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before
they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
