They may refer to manuals, codes of practice, or policy statements. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Demonstrate knowledge of electronic mapping systems in a gas distribution network. Performance criteria 1.1 Map and plans are accessed and interpreted in terms of company procedures. Range cadastral, piping and instrumentation drawings, local body and other services plans. 1.2 The use of maps and plans in a gas distribution network is explained in relation to company procedures. 1.3 Storage and access systems for different types of maps and plans are identified in accordance with company procedures. Range 1.4 computer-aided drawing (CAD) systems, electronic data base, scanned drawings, digitised drawings. Electronic sources and formats of maps and plans are identified and explained in terms of relevance to a gas distribution network. Element 2 Use and maintain electronic mapping systems in a gas distribution network. Performance criteria 2.1 New maps or plans are identified and stored in accordance with company procedures. Range 2.2 electronic, paper. Relevant data from the map or plan are summarised for reference purposes in accordance with company procedures. Range key points, issuer, issue date, expiry date, review date. 2.3 The currency of maps and plans in storage is monitored in accordance with company procedures. 2.4 Maps and plans are issued on request and their issue is recorded in accordance with company procedures. Element 3 Enter data for electronic mapping in a gas distribution network. Performance criteria 3.1 Data is entered, edited, and calculated in accordance with company procedures. 3.2 File management techniques are demonstrated on electronic mapping software in accordance with company procedures. Range 3.3 create, name, save, copy, rename, abandon changes, locate directory (folder), display directory (folder) contents, locate file. Data integrity practices are demonstrated in accordance with company procedures. Range may include – comparison with original information sources, audited formulae, check totals. Please note Providers must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by the Qualifications Authority before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP).
