Those credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of stripes and graphics; prepare to apply adhesive stripes and graphics; and apply adhesive stripes and graphics. Evidence requirements 2.1 Customer requirements are identified and verified. 2.2 Surface is clean and prepared. Range 2.3 Tools and equipment are identified, and used according to manufacturer's specifications. Range 2.4 free of dirt, traffic film, wax and silicone polishes, oil, grease, dirt in paint work; cure time of new paint. cleaning materials, measuring tape, chalk, NT cutter, lubricant, squeegee. Area where stripe and graphic is to be applied is identified and marked out according to customer specifications, and markings are legible. Outcome 3 Apply adhesive stripes and graphics. Evidence requirements 3.1 Backing tape is removed and the stripe and graphic are applied in the specified place according to customer's and manufacturer's specifications. 3.2 There are no defects on the stripe and graphic and the vehicle is clean. Range air bubbles, tearing, lifting. 3.3 Tools and equipment are put away, and the work area is clean and dry. 3.4 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task. Range 3.5 personal safety; safety of other people; vehicle safety; workshop safety; environmental safety; tool, equipment, and machine safety. Work is completed to the acceptable industry standard and in an acceptable industry time.
