NZQA registered unit standard 14535 version 2 Page 1 of 3 Title Control stocks of semi finished steel forms Level 2 Credits Purpose 4 This unit standard is for personnel controlling stocks of steel forms, such as slabs, billets and coils, which are en route to further processing. People credited with this unit standard are able to: receive steel form stock; decide steel form stock location; and select stock for next production process. Classification Steel Manufacturing > Steel Product Handling Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Definition Company documentation refers to the documented procedures, manufacturer’s manuals and selected reference texts for the equipment and process. 2 Legislation relevant to this unit standard includes but is not limited to – Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Resource Management Act 1991. 3 This unit standard must be assessed in a workplace environment. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Receive steel form stock. Evidence requirements 1.1 Inspections identify defect steel form stock in accordance with company documentation. Range 1.2 inspections include but are not limited to – coating and/or dimension, grade and shape. Inspections identify loads not conforming to delivery advice. Range Competenz SSB Code 101571 delivery advice includes but is not limited to – load weight and/or number of forms and/or identifications. Outcome 2 Decide steel form stock location. Evidence requirements 2.1 Integrity of stock is maintained in accordance with company documentation. integrity of stock includes but is not limited to – load, grade, dimension and/or number and/or mass. Range 2.2 Storage of forms is in accordance with company documentation for identification, accessibility and safety. 2.3 Stock documentation enables stock to be located for load out. Outcome 3 Select stock for next production process. Evidence requirements 3.1 Stock is selected in accordance with company documentation to ensure specifications of finished products are achieved. selection includes but is not limited to – grade, dimension. Range 3.2 Weight of selected stock enables the production schedule to be achieved. 3.3 Stock documentation is in accordance with company documentation and enables stock reconciliation to be completed.
