Explanatory notes
Definitions
Enterprise means an organisation where training and/or assessment is taking place,
and/or where the trainee is employed.
Enterprise procedures refer to the documented procedures used by the organisation
carrying out the work and applicable to the tasks being carried out. They may include but
are not limited to – standard operating procedures, site safety procedures, equipment
operating procedures, codes of practice, quality assurance procedures, housekeeping
standards, charging of time and materials, management of drawings and documentation,
procedures to comply with legislative and local body requirements.

1.1
Feeder spouts are selected, installed and removed to maintain consistent
feeder control in accordance with enterprise procedures.
1.2
Refractory sleeves are selected, installed and removed, and their operation is
explained in accordance with enterprise procedures.

Feeder drive mechanism is adjusted to achieve the best gob in accordance with
enterprise procedures.

Feeder needles are selected, assembled and installed in accordance with job
requirements and enterprise procedures.

Inconel spade is used to shut off flow of glass to the feeder in accordance with
enterprise procedures.
1.6
Orifice rings are selected, constructed, and changed in accordance with job
requirements and enterprise procedures.
1.7
Glass shearing mechanisms are stopped and removed from glass stream,
restarted and adjusted to meet new job requirements in accordance with
enterprise procedures.
