Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: identify
legislative responsibilities and equipment required for the
control and containment of emissions and spills in the dairy
industry; prepare to control potential spills and emissions in the
dairy industry; control, isolate, and contain emissions and spills
that result from hypothetical emergency incidents in the dairy
industry; and record, report and follow up emissions and spills
in the dairy industry.

1
Organisational requirements refers to instructions to staff on policy and procedures
which are documented in memo or manual format and are available in the workplace.
These requirements include but are not limited to – site specific requirements,
company quality management requirements, and legislative requirements.

Legislative requirements in this unit standard include but are not limited to
compliance with the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Resource
Management Act 1991, local body regulations, the Health and Safety in Employment
Regulations 1995, relevant codes of practice and subsequent amendments.
