Library Electronic Resources (periodicals, databases, and ebooks)
At the November 19, 2010 meeting of the Planning and Budgeting Council, the Council approved
the following motion which was forwarded by the District Technology Committee:
“The District Technology Committee recommends that the District create a line item for all library
databases and that this be an ongoing yearly expense.”
It is the understanding of the PBC that for the current academic year (2010-2011) rollover
categorical funding will be used to fund these library databases.
The PBC is recommending that with the development of the 2011-2012 budget this (Library
Electronic Resources) be a line item in the budget and that this item be continued as a part of
ongoing budget development.
The Planning and Budgeting Council looks forward to your response to this recommendation.
For your reference, the next meeting of the PBC is on December 10.
