People credited with this unit standard are able to: demonstrate knowledge of motor vehicle interior trim; remove and replace door fittings; and remove and replace interior trim in the motor body industry. It is assumed the policy also meets product manufacturers' specifications, recommendations, and standards. Range air bag, seat belt pretensioners. Outcome 2 Remove and replace door fittings. Range trim, glass, window winders, locks, speakers, mouldings. Evidence requirements 2.1 Tools and equipment are selected to enable the parts to be removed, and used according to manufacturer‘s specifications. 2.2 Trim is removed without damage to trim panel or trim fittings. Range arm rests, pull handle, door opening handle, door lock, paintwork, water deflector, speakers, mouldings, electrical fittings, pockets. 2.3 Door locking mechanisms are removed and replaced without damage to glass or connecting levers according to manufacturer’s specifications. 2.4 Door glass and fittings are removed and replaced according to manufacturer‘s specifications without damage to glass, bodywork and fittings. Range 2.5 window regulator, channels, lock fittings, speakers, wiring, mouldings, paintwork. Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task. Range personal safety, safety to others, vehicle, tools and equipment safety. Outcome 3 Remove and replace interior trim in the motor body industry. Range seats, seat belts (not pretensioned), trim panels, carpets, quarter windows, sealing rubbers, consol panels. Evidence requirements 3.1 Tools are selected to enable the parts to be removed and replaced, and used according to manufacturer’s specifications. 3.2 Seats are removed without damage to seat, trims, carpets, paintwork and are replaced so as to be properly aligned and secure according to manufacturer‘s specifications. 3.3 Seat belts are removed and replaced according to the manufacturer’s specifications and Transport Regulations.
