Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to demonstrate knowledge of

Definitions
Travel industry workplace policies and procedures refer to documented instructions
about workplace expectations, these must include but are not limited to – customer
service delivery, personal presentation, legislation, organisational structure, business
objectives.
Wholesale travel environment refers to those workplaces involved in inbound and
outbound travel. In the travel industry these workplaces are also known as outbound
tour operators, general sales agents (GSAs), inbound tour operators and/or domestic
tour operators.

Elements and performance criteria
Element 1
Demonstrate knowledge of the role responsibilities of a wholesale travel finalisation
consultant.
Performance criteria
1.1
The role responsibilities of a wholesale travel finalisation consultant are
described in accordance with travel industry workplace policies and procedures.
Range
responsibilities may include but are not limited to – banking, urgent
queues, processing electronic documents, processing manual
documents, ordering other suppliers documents, checking
documents.
Element 2
Complete finalisation tasks in a wholesale travel environment.
Performance criteria
2.1
Documents are processed and/or requested in accordance with travel industry
workplace policies and procedures.
Range
documents may include but are not limited to – airline tickets, inhouse vouchers, other suppliers’ vouchers, itineraries, passes;
evidence is required for four different types.
2.2
Documents are reissued in accordance with travel industry workplace policies
and procedures.
2.3
Documents are sent out in accordance with travel industry workplace policies
and procedures.

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
