Workplace practice means that the performance criteria are interpreted in
accordance with the accepted practice for the component being installed, in the
workplace where the unit standard is being assessed against. Accepted practice
may vary between workplaces because of the potential variation of production
trailerboat installations and the materials to which the components are attached. For
example workplace practice in aluminium may include insulation of fastener from the
aluminium by application of jointing compound, which may not be required for
attachment of a fitting to FRC (fibre reinforced composite) trailer boats. Another
example is water testing which may vary between boat types and applications.
