and knowledge
Unit 20611, Demonstrate knowledge of hydraulics and
hydraulic power systems, or demonstrate equivalent
knowledge and skills.
Explanatory notes
1
The system designed for this unit standard must of a simple construction and may
include but is not limited to one each of the following components: double acting
hydraulic cylinder, two directional control valve, pump, reservoir, filter, motor (or jack),
hydraulic lines, pressure control valve.
2
The diagram prepared for this unit standard must be of a graphic symbol type as
opposed to a cutaway pictorial diagram. All graphics must conform with BS 29171:1993, ISO 1219-1:1991, Graphic symbols and circuit diagrams for fluid power
systems and components: specification for graphic symbols.
Outcomes and evidence requirements
Outcome 1

This CMR can be accessed at http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/framework/search/index.do.
Please note
Providers must be granted consent to assess against standards (accredited) by NZQA, or
an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can
report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading
to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
Providers and Industry Training Organisations, which have been granted consent and
which are assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that
applies to those standards.
Consent requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the CMRs. The CMR also includes useful information about
special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training
programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special
resource requirements.
