Many START members shared their feedback from the latest newsletter:

The newsletter seems to get better with each issue.

Professional looking with lots of interesting stories.

Good navigation in the online version.

Have the opportunity to learn something new each time.

ABA STRATEGIC PLAN

REDEFINE THE POSSIBLE

 and Now, Discover Your Strengths

Green related news, including efforts to increase recycling on campus, as well as other campaigns and projects from Facilities Sustainability.

The SPQI website is a great resource for finding and reading about the strategic goals of each office, as well as updates and progress towards those goals.

Templates are also available for offices to keep standardized formatting in their goal-record keeping.

Tools, tips, and guides provide info on customer service, including resources from Dennis Snow’s January presentation, as well as resources for lean process improvement.

The recent President’s address discussed the new goals and details of Redefine the Possible. “Leadership begins here.” is officially being phased out.

Andrew and Sarah shared with START members the proposed proper usage of

Redefine the Possible in logos, business cards, and email signature lines. Public

Affairs is applying for a trademark for Redefine the Possible through UEI. A website will be launched to communicate the standards and a timeline for removing “Leadership begins here.” from e-mails, website and collateral.

WEBSITE MIGRATION UPDATE

REPORT OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS

ABA has one of the largest websites on campus, with over 25 distinctive units and departments. We have completed migration and redesign, with the exception of Risk Management Services. In August, Risk Management Services websites (rms.csus) became unavailable due to a security concern from IRT. The server was taken down, and with it went all of Risk Management’s websites.

Sarah and Andrew worked quickly to restore service to some of their associated web applications, and build two pages, Environmental Health and Safety, and

Workers’ Compensation. These pages are now available. All associated RMS forms are still available via the ABA Forms page. Templates have been created and are on standby once IRT releases the server.

Future goals: improve search results for ABA-related queries, and reduce/remove dead links.

The proposed outline for of contents for the 2012/2013 Report of

Accomplishments is underway. There will be a continued focus on staff accomplishment, similar to the 2011/2012 report.

Some topics that may be pertinent are:

Campus master planning process

Sustainability programs

START members offered the following suggestions.

Integrate the bicycle task force into the master planning story

Money dedicated to Facilities Services projects (Sarah said that this would qualify for the 2013/14 report, as it represents resources allocated in this year’s budget.
