FBISD ASL 2 Course Description: ASL II is a continuation of ASL I involving more extensive exposure of ASL grammar and vocabulary. Students are expected to use their receptive skills to receive most instruction. There is a heavier emphasis on students' individual expressive skills. Students continue conceptually accurate vocabulary development, and learn how to interpret and construct more complex ASL sentence structures. Students are engaged in more interactive communicative activities and projects. ASL number systems will be taught in depth. ASL Loan signs will be introduced as well as a number of ASL expressions. Students will interpret segments of spoken and written English and interpret it conceptually according to rules of ASL.
