ASL 1-2, Unit 5-7 Study Guide










All receptive portions will be signed sentences. You need to understand the
meaning of entire sentences and phrases.
Understand vocabulary from Units 5, 6 and 7
Understand descriptions using classifiers. Be able to identify the object being
identified by a classifier. Study the following PowerPoint sections to review:
o “Classifiers 1 – 4” Power Point
o Unit 6, slide #59 – 67
o Unit 7, slides #50 - 51
Recognize clock time accurately (time spot)
Understand tense. Recognize time signs that represent various forms of past,
present or future.
Understand signs that use the Rule of 9 (incorporating number)
Know the 5 parameters of ASL
Be able to differentiate signs that change in only one parameter
Understand the sign language continuum
Understand Topic/Comment sentence structure. Know what TTCQC stand for.
Recognize the NMS (eyebrows) associated with each part of a signed sentence.
