How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly? Assessment Methods: Guided notes will be filled out with textual evidence to ensure correct examples. Checks for Understanding: A written summary of Scene 4. What do I need to be successful? Materials: Textbook, Academic Vocabulary Notes Packet Tuesday 1/13 What do I need to before next class? Follow Up/HW: none What are we learning? Daily Objective: I will be able to analyze two film versions of a dramatic work and explain how they are similar and different from a traditional Shakespearean format for drama. TEKS/AP/Standards: ELA.9.2B Analyze the influence of mythic, classical, and traditional literature on 20th and 21st century literature. How will we learn it? Learning Activities: 1. Recite prologue. 2. Go over STAAR Reading Selection #1 (#2, #5, and #7- all others in tutorials!) 3. Read/Listen to Act 1, Scene 5- use No Fear Shakespeare 4. Show the introductions to the Zefferelli and Luhrmann version of Romeo and Juliet (about 20 minutes total) 5. With remaining time, work on Promptbook major grade. How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly? Assessment Methods: Students have received “data” in the form of a grade on their first STAAR reading selection. Checks for Understanding: We will be going over three major incorrect answers on that selection. What do I need to be successful?
