Dear Parent(s) and Guardian(s),
Thank you so much for all of your continuous support! We are
grateful for all that you do at home to support your children.
Thank you for all of the wonderful goods that your children
brought in for the Econ Fair, and thank you for all of your
donations as well!
Here's a look ahead to what the students will be learning over
the next two weeks:
Math — Students will be able to recognize that equal shares of
the same whole need not have the same shape. They will also be
able to sort partitioned shapes into examples and non-examples
of equal shares. Classes will also be able to determine equal

to a number line drawing and to an equation. They will also be
able to write an equation to represent the total number of
objects in an array as the sum of equal addends.
Reading — Students will be able to acknowledge and understand
the differences in points of view of characters, including
speaking in a different voice for each character. They will
also be able to describe the overall structure of a story,
including describing how the beginning introduces the story and
the ending concludes the action. Classes will also be able to
identify real-life connections between words and their use.
Students will also be able to ask and answer questions to
demonstrate understanding of key details in a text. They will
also be able to describe how characters in a story respond to
major events.
Writing —Students will be able to finish writing their book
reviews and will work on publishing them. They will also be able
to add drawings to these opinion pieces.
Science — The students will be able to identify and sequence the
stages in the life cycle of a radish plant. They will also be
able to discuss and identify the conditions required for a plant
to grow through each stage of its life cycle.

help them be responsible. They will also

economic choices that people make. They will also be able to
