ADMINISTRATIVE FACULTY JOB DESCRIPTION APPROVED POSITION INFORMATION (to be completed by HR) Effective: May 1, 2015 Title Range Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship Essential Function: Sedentary Work JCC 2 Description: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. 1. The Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship is responsible for developing, administering, and expanding various professional, academic, youth, and outreach programs that promote entrepreneurship and new venture knowledge and skills. The incumbent manages and promotes the Center’s activities; oversees the department’s fiscal operations and personnel; and communicates with various individuals, private organizations, and government agencies to develop partnerships beneficial to the Center and the College of Business. * Attach an organizational chart with positions, ranges, and names for the division. 2. If line of progression, define for each range as above. 40% - Program Management, Development, and Assessment Work with campus departments, faculty, staff, and students; advisory boards; public agencies; industry and business groups; local, regional, and national professional organizations and associations; governmental agencies; and other educational institutions to identify entrepreneurship training needs Coordinate the development of curricula for new certificate programs such as: entrepreneurship and new venture growth, youth entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship, commercializing technology, economic development, and customized contract training programs Work faculty and COB administration to develop and implement course curricula, formats, and delivery methods Develop relationships with mid and upper management professionals of local, regional, national, and international organizations to form partnerships which will be utilized to develop new and complement existing programs Identify, recruit, and hire acknowledged experts from various industries to serve as instructors and faculty for respective programs Review, evaluate, and maintain the academic quality of programs and curricula; update and revise programs and curricula as needed 1 Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship Keep abreast of opportunities and changes in local, regional, national, and international trends regarding entrepreneurial development, management, training, and leadership Counsel and advise current and potential students in academic and professional matters 20% - Marketing and Promotion Develop, plan, and implement marketing and advertising strategies used for student recruitment and the promotion of the Center and its various programs Solicit business for customized contract entrepreneurship training programs; create and submit proposals for implementation and delivery of customized training programs 15% - Personnel Management Hire, train, evaluate, and, if necessary, recommend discipline or termination of instructors and Center staff Assign and review work; provide direction to meet the objectives and responsibilities of the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship Encourage professional development through training, seminars, and committee service 15% - Fiscal Management Establish and monitor financial goals for each program Develop program budgets; maintain self-supporting status of the Center Implement cost-containment strategies to ensure profitability of programs 10% - Advisory Board Oversight Recruit advisory board members Lead advisory board meetings Work with board members to identify and clarify industry and business needs 3. The Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship works under minimal supervision to manage the Center’s personnel and self-supporting programs. The incumbent has the authority to work with business professionals, community groups, and governmental agencies to develop partnerships, identify curricular needs, and develop entrepreneurial programs. 4. Describe the types of problems, issues, action, communications this position typically takes to the supervisor for resolution and/or consultation. Provide examples. If a line of progression, describe the supervisory consultation at the highest level. The Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship collaborates with the Dean, College of Business to determine the strategic direction and goals of the Center. Changes to entrepreneurial curricula must first be discussed with the Dean and approved by the College’s curricular committee. While the Manager has the authority to identify and reach out to potential donors and develop partnerships, formal agreements and gifts are forwarded to the Dean and Development Director for final approval and implementation. 2 Manager, Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship 5.
