Please note that proposals for new courses and pathways are dealt with by the University’s Portfolio Approval Committee (PAC). Withdrawal and suspension of courses and
pathways are also dealt with by PAC.
Please note that STLCs are empowered to approve changes that would normally be considered major, providing that these changes affect no more than 25% (30 credits) of
a course stage. If STLC cumulatively changes more than 25% of a course stage for the forthcoming academic year, these changes must be recorded below and sent for
approval by CDASC. It is essential that any such changes are made only at the autumn or spring meetings of STLC, in order that the changes can be incorporated into the
timetable.
The proposed changes listed below will be considered for approval by Curriculum Development and Approval Subcommittee (CDASC). The CDASC Secretary will notify the
School of the outcomes.

New standalone electives may be proposed via this form to CDASC. When proposing a new pathway, the new electives constituting that pathway should be proposed using the pro forma available from the ADQE website
(http://www.sussex.ac.uk/adqe/curriculum/newcourseapproval), which will then be considered by Portfolio Approval Committee.

3. Suspension of modules
4. Major revisions of modules2 (Module title; module learning outcomes; assessment modes; assessment weightings)
Please ensure that all relevant pro formas have been completed in full and accompany this report upon submission. The report should be received by the Secretary of
Curriculum Development and Approval Subcommittee (CDASC) no later than 10 working days before the next meeting of CDASC. Minor changes do not need approval by
CDASC and so do not need to be recorded in this report. There are no pro formas to complete for minor changes.
2
Major revisions to modules that will subsequently form part of a new pathway proposal should be proposed to CDASC rather than included in the pathway proposal.
