Test Description – OTCL 530
A Describe the knowledge and skills required to pass the test
Comprehension of the complete first year of basic Hebrew grammar. This
test is the equivalent to the final exam for the second semester of Biblical
Hebrew.
B List the topics covered in the test
Basic Hebrew vocabulary, morphology, and grammar.
C What is the format of the test? Students are asked to identify the meaning of
vocabulary words, to write out certain verb forms in Hebrew, to answer basic
grammar questions, to translate sentences from Hebrew to English, and to parse
verbal forms.
D How many Questions are on the test? 50
E List suggested study resources, if appropriate. Test is based on a course that uses The
Basics of Biblical Hebrew (text and workbook) as the course text. Other first
year Hebrew grammars would also be valuable resources for review and study.
