Reading Comprehension RAP Appropriate Grade Level: 4-12 Procedures/Steps: This strategy uses the acronym RAP to help students remember the steps to increase their own reading comprehension. 1. Read a paragraph. 2. Ask yourself what the paragraph was about. 3. Put the main idea and two details in your own words. Comments and/or tips: Have posters of this strategy for students to use for reference. Introduce this strategy by modeling to class on the board or on an overhead.
