Drama Rhymes

Procedures/Steps:

Rehearsal - Select a familiar rhyme. Then examine each line of the nursery rhyme to determine which words can be dramatized. Use pictures to help students understand words or concepts.

Creation of the drama- Determine what parts of the school or classroom can be incorporated into the Drama. Use films or sounds to help children understand pictures or concepts that they might not know. Ex. “I bring in an uncooked egg and drop it into a container to demonstrate what happens to Humpty Dumpty.”


The debut Have all items available. Display the picture and words of the nursery rhymes and ask the students what they can tell me about the pictures or words ( this will show the teacher students prior knowledge). Model the drama for the students.

The rhyme can take a lot of time to get through.
