Academic Resource Department

Academic Resource Department
All students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) are assigned a Resource Teacher. The resource
teacher develops and maintains students’ IEPs, monitors student progress, and provides support to
students in accordance with the students’ IEPs. Students are encouraged to visit the academic resource
room to connect with their resource teacher and access the supports and services they require.
All students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) can access the Academic Resource Room (225).
The Academic Resource Room is considered a quiet, alternative setting where students can complete
assigned work, quizzes, tests, and/or exams, and access computers and assistive technology in
accordance with the accommodations outlined in their IEP. Students, subject teachers and resource
teachers work together to arrange or coordinate access to the resource room as needed by the student.
Parents are encouraged to connect with their child’s resource teacher to discuss:
 student’s IEP
 scheduled IPRCs
 scheduled Transition Meetings
 general updates on performance and progress across courses
