AbstractID: 14359 Title: Professional Track - Contracts and Negotiation Techniques The transition from a solo consulting to a group physics practice was a process that was not simple. As a solo startup, 30 years ago, that has now grown to 9 physicists and 2 office staff, the process has required serious deliberations and planning. These include decisions on: business planning- e.g., partnerships vs corporate structure, hiring and personnel contracts, staff professional development (certification, licensing & continuing education), work scheduling, practice insurance, salary & employment records; and staff benefits- reimbursements, health insurance, retirement. These are some of the major decisions to be made and implemented. This talk will provide a brief review of pros & cons of some these decisions and offer examples of staffing management from a corporate structured consulting business.
