MPI 2012 World Education Congress Presents

“New Connectivity” Education and Marketplace Opportunities

Keynote Speakers and Business Platforms Provide Dynamic Interaction

March 23, 3012 – DALLAS – MPI’s 2012 World Education Congress (WEC), July 28-31 in St. Louis, will offer attendees the opportunity to explore “new connectivity” via insightful educational content and powerful business engagement. MPI will host two dynamic keynote speakers who will deliver distinct perspectives on designing human connections and why they are vital to business.

Jonah Lehrer will open the conference and Nicholas Christakis will deliver the closing keynote.

Suppliers and key decision makers will also interact at WEC’s MarketSquare and Hosted Buyer

Program.

“The most important trend in business today is managing the way people connect,” said Bruce

MacMillan, MPI president and CEO. “Meeting Professionals are architects of human connections.

Figuring out how to create meaningful human connectivity amidst all the clutter of engagement is a daily challenge for our members. So, WEC 2012 is really all about providing opportunities for attendees to create the new connectivity that will propel their businesses to success.”

Jonah Lehrer is a contributing editor to Wired magazine and author of the instant bestseller, How

We Decide, which discusses the way decisions are made and how to leverage this information to make better decisions. He is a renowned speaker who will talk with the WEC audience about strategies for creating connectivity opportunities that inspire innovation. Attendees will leave with practical tactics, from ideas on how to design workspaces that organically facilitate interaction to creating purposeful educational opportunities that create powerful connections. Lehrer is presented by The Lavin Agency.

A physician and social scientist expert in healthcare and social networks, Nicholas Christakis, MD,

PhD, MPH, is co-author of the much heralded book, Connected: The Surprising Power of Our Social

Networks and How They Shape Our Lives. Christakis will deliver his keynote based on his clinical research on how our networks – and the people in them – affect our mental and physical well- being. He will discuss the importance of building small communities that support successful business relationships and lifestyles, specifically in the meetings industry. Christakis is presented by

The Harry Walker Agency, Inc.

“We know that people can access feel-good content anywhere, so our goal is always to challenge our members by offering research-based, compelling content that is presented in a way that is relevant to our industry. And we want to ensure that our attendees can connect that intelligence to their business opportunities by providing suppliers and planners an environment that facilitates business relationships,” added MacMillan.

Additionally, attendees at WEC won’t want to miss the opportunities for suppliers and planners to create their new connectivity for improving their business. With the Hosted Buyer Program, suppliers have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with qualified planners that have specific needs for the products or services they offer. MPI’s enhanced MarketSquare is a powerful networking platform where attendees and suppliers meet, greet, mix and mingle between WEC events and sessions. Strategically situated in the heart of all the action, just outside of the daily session rooms, this is an ideal way to do business while at WEC.
