WEC Delivers Serious Brain Time With Expert Lineup
Flash Point Series Designed to Challenge, Inspire Attendees Success
June 9, 2011 – Dallas, TX – A diverse group of experts will present during Flash Point at the World Education
Congress (WEC) 2011, July 23 – 26 in Orlando, Fla. Flash Point, which has become one of the most wellattended sessions at Meeting Professionals International (MPI) events, taps multiple industries, bringing
presenters from the sciences, Fortune 500 companies and performance art.
The 15-minute presentations touch three topic areas: Creativity, Innovation and Change, which will provide
unique ideas on how meeting and event professionals can face the new rules of engagement in modern
business. Session designers intend to stimulate discussions and conversations that continue postconference.
“Flash Point is an essential element of the WEC experience, and the slate this year will invigorate the
audience as they conduct business in the recovering economy,” said MPI Program Manager Elizabeth Luna.
Creativity will be explored through Jeff Lieberman and Victoria Labalme. Lieberman, whose background that
includes a program on the Discovery Channel, explores the connections between art, science and
perceptions of our world. Labalme is the creator of The Prism Effect™, which combines her performing arts
background with a three-angle system that turns unique talent into profitability.
Innovation brings EMEC 2011 Flash Point presenter Frans Johansson to Orlando, where he is joined by fellow
innovator Josh Linkner. Linkner promotes the idea of “disruptive innovation” to bring new and novel ideas to
the marketplace that differentiate companies from their competition. Johansson will deliver the highly
regarded “Medici Effect” concept that explores finding intelligence in outside cultures and disciplines.
Bill Toliver, Fabien Cousteau and Erik Qualman tackle the concept of change. Toliver mines his experience
with Westin Hotels and other companies, and focuses on social change via non-traditional methods.
Qualman, a best-selling author, is a leader in the social media revolution and will connect the meetings and
events industry to the economics of social media. Cousteau, descendant of the legendary Jacques Cousteau,
has a passion for sustainability and will help professionals understand their potential for effecting change
against threats to the world’s oceans.
WEC 2011 will be hosted at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Conference registration is
open, and professionals can find the professional development, business and brand opportunities and
networking on the conference website.
