We also studied nonfiction text features, their purposes, and how they help us as readers. Next week, we will study the structures of nonfiction: description, chronological, compare and contrast, problem and solution, and cause and effect. Math – The students will be taking an assessment on module 2 next Tuesday. They will receive a study guide on Friday. Our next unit will cover multiplication, area, perimeter, and volume. **If your child has not mastered his/her multiplication facts yet, please remind him/her to practice daily. It is so important to know your facts in order to move on to other math concepts. Science – We are well into chapter two, What are the Interactions in Ecosystems? The children are learning about the interactions between two species and how they can benefit from each other. Social Studies – Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness…Congress approves the Declaration of Independence! Next, Washington takes command and we will read that we have a tough road ahead. Will we win the battle at Trenton and give Americans hope? Be sure to ask your child next week. Writing – The kids are working hard on their narrative writing pieces.
