The Ecoteam completed the application and reporting process with Ontario Eco-Schools on April 30th, and it looks like we did pretty well. Our goal was to achieve Bronze Certification, and we may have exceeded that and certified as a Silver School. Earth Week was highlighted by Mr. Kozjan's class project in Grounds Greening as the 12 saplings were successfully planted by various classes in the school. Our waste minimization was successful, and lots of students are consciously making an effort to use re-fillable water bottles and not bring purchased water to school. The Eco-team asks that students continue to Boomerang their organics home to their composters and try to bring litterless lunches and snacks to school. Thanks....from the Eco-team! JR BOYS BASKETBALL On Thursday April 26th, the Junior boys basketball team played in a one day tournament held at St. Gregory's. WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN EVENING On Tuesday, May 8th, 2012, the newest and youngest members of the St. Julia family were welcomed by our current staff , School Council members and other community partners. A special thank you to all the paents and guests who attended our Café. It was a great success! Merci Beaucoup! WATER BOTTLES As the warmer weather approaches students may require more access to water. Students are permitted to bring full water bottles to school. Students are permitted to have them on their desks but are to be used under the direction of the classroom teacher. We have found in the past that at times students use these for water fights in the playground. During recesses students will continue to receive a pass so they can come into the school for water. Your understanding is greatly appreciated. SHARE LIFE The St. Julia school community has raised $1300for Share Life through our Santa Pictures, Lenten Pizza lunch and Shrove Tuesday. The teachers have also contributed to Share Life through ―Casual Fridays‖.
