December 1, 2015 – Meeting of the Executive Cabinet of the Student Government Association of Western Kentucky University VOTING OFFICERS IN ATTENDANCE President Jay Todd Richey Executive Vice President Nolan Miles Administrative Vice President Liz Koehler Chief of Staff James Line Public Relations Director Sawyer Coffey Director of Academic and Student Affairs Barrett Greenwell NONVOTING OFFICERS IN ATTENDANCE Speaker of the Senate Paige Settles Richey calls meeting to order. Last meeting's minutes approved. Miles and Koehler disagree with Luttrell's remarks on the need for a separate Judicial Council adviser. Richey says he can see the merit in a neutral adviser in circumstances of conflict with the administration. Greenwell and Koehler disagree with the proposal of a code of conduct. Richey urges the posting of passed legislation on the SGA website. Organizational Aid bill passed unanimously with no discussion. Koehler motions to allocate $600 out of executive discretionary funding for extended library hours for finals week. Unanimously approved. Koehler suggests potentially moving to a non-digital system of clocking in and out. Richey asks about funding for Dub the Pub, Coffey says update will come soon. Richey expresses frustration over It's On Us videographer not responding. Miles and Koehler discuss potential funding for lobbying trip to Frankfort. Greenwell says they're a little over-budget right now on scholarships. Koehler discusses taking on suicide awareness as an SGA initiative, especially in light of a recent student death from suicide. Richey says a student discussed an idea today with him in which a community would be established for interpersonal counseling between students. Coffey motions to adjourn. Motion passes unanimously.
