Welcome to Mott Community College and 2014-15 Academic year! I hope you have gotten off to a good start and are as full of
excitement for the good things to come as I am!
On September 24, the Student Life Center held its annual Fall Rally and the MCC UC appeared to be very popular; the Site Directors have
reported that they spoke to more students interested in transferring than they have in previous years. It seems that the number of
students planning to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree is growing. The MCC UC is a great resource for transfer planning as you will see in the
announcements contained within this Newsletter.
Happy reading and Good Wishes as we start the new Academic year!

Flint MSW Program
MSU’s Master of Social Work degree program was ranked among the top 25 in the nation by TheBestSchools.org,
an independent organization that focuses its ranking system on three criteria: academic excellence, return on
investment, and benefits that affect quality of life during studies.
The Flint Master of Social Work degree program prepares students to help individuals, families, and groups restore
or enhance their capacity for social functioning and to create societal conditions that support individuals and
communities. Students on the Flint campus complete the 57-credit hour MSW program on a part-time 3-year
schedule attending evening courses only. This includes 960 hours of internship, integrating classroom-learning
experiences with experiential opportunity in human service settings.
To learn more, please join us at our information meetings being held October 15, 6-7pm or October 18, 10-11am in
the Regional Technology Center, room 1301. You may also contact Julie Farman at farmanju@msu.edu Online

Rochester College
Rochester College is committed to academic excellence. With our main campus located in the heart of Rochester
Hills, we are pleased to offer three additional Extended Learning campuses for students to pursue that same
academic excellence: Macomb University Center in Macomb, Specs Howard in Southfield, and right here in your
own backyard at Mott Community College.
RC is pleased to offer 4 exclusive, transfer friendly programs right here at Mott Community College, all resulting in
Bachelor of Science degrees: Early Child Studies, Mass Communication (exclusive partnership w/ Mott’s MAET
program), Psychology, and, a new program effective Fall ‘14, Leadership with a Management track (offered 100%
online). All classes are held right here at the Mott campus, one night per week (respective of each class) from 6p10p, for only 8 weeks, and can allow students to finish their program in as little as 12 months! As an added
benefit, students can transfer in as many as 90 transfer credits from an accredited institution and we evaluate
work/life experience for necessary elective credit!
Fall registration for late start is currently open for students. Our winter registration will open shortly in midOctober. For more information or to see just how your credits will fit in to one of our programs, please contact
