Flint MSW Program The Michigan State University, Master of Social Work degree program located on the Mott campus is reviewing applications now for those students who will begin their academic studies in the fall semester. The application period begins in the fall semester and concludes early the following semester. The deadline each year is February 1. As with many graduate programs, the admission period is distinct in its time period for accepting applications. There is only one application period per year, so prospective applicants have a relatively smaller window to apply. Sadly, many individuals who desire to go on for a graduate degree are surprised to learn that they cannot enroll in a graduate program in a similar fashion as an undergraduate degree program. Each applicant must complete MSU’s graduate application and also a more specific application for the School of Social Work which addresses an individual’s commitment to the field of social work and its professional values and ethics. Mott’s 2013 Commencement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 4. The MSU MSW degree program in Flint continues to prepare social work professionals who go on to provide invaluable service to their communities by completing this three year part-time program. (Over) Students transferring from Mott to UM-Flint are finding two programs very popular: business and social work. With the UM-Flint admissions and advising office located in the Mott Memorial Building, MMB 1002, students can now be advised on these two great programs. Business students can see Kelly Miller, SOM academic advisor on Monday’s from 1-5pm and Craig Gomolka, Business Recruiter on Thursday’s from 8-1pm. Learn about what classes will transfer into the BBA program, how to maximize your classes at Mott, what majors are offered and any other business questions you may have. Students that are accepted into UM-Flint and pursuing the Social Work program can meet with Prof. Womack, Social Work Advisor, on every 4th Wednesday of the month by scheduling an appointment. This is a great opportunity to ask questions about the social work program and learn how MCC Social Work Tech graduates can receive additional credits towards a UM-Flint Social Work degree. Students can always stop in to UM-Flint’s Mott office and talk about any of our 200 programs. Contact Gale Glover, Admissions Representative at (810) 232-2851 for your appointment today!
