Commendation: Peter Calvert
Whereas, Peter Calvert has served thousands of students in his role as Professor since 2000; and
Whereas, Mr. Calvert has provided an exemplary model of student-centered learning, helping to raise
the standards and level of student-success within his discipline area of business; and
Whereas, Mr. Calvert has brought a new standard of style and fashion to Hartnell College in his choice
of flamboyant and outrageous necktie selections; and
Whereas, Peter Calvert has been recognized by the California Association for Postsecondary Education
and Disability (CAPED) with their statewide Teacher of the Year Award, recognizing an outstanding
instructor who recognizes his or her responsibility for the education of all learners and has made
extraordinary efforts to meet the needs of the disabled learner in the classroom through the use of
innovative instructional techniques and accommodations;
Resolved, That the Hartnell College Academic Senate now recognizes Mr. Calvert’s outstanding career
as a Hartnell Professor and congratulates him on receiving this honor and award.
