Spring is a metaphor for change. Some changes we eagerly await, and some we abhor. Some changes we plan and others arrive uninvited.
To all these changes we ask the gift of Your perspective beckoning us to expectation, hope, and rebirth.
May the sunlight and the rain be reminders that You are at work renewing the earth. As a
God of renewal, You are ever at work in our lives, too.

SUMMER LITERACY CAMP: SK – Gr 6
Registration packages will be going out shortly. Please be advised that Summer Literacy Camp is a 3 week program, running from July 11th to July 29th from 9 am—12 pm (Monday to Friday), open to students from
SK to Grade 6. Summer Literacy Camp is offered at
12 school site in DPCDSB. Transportation is NOT provided. Cost is $300.00.
ELEMENTARY SUMMER SCHOOL:
Gr 7 and 8
We will soon begin the process of making up the class lists for next fall. This is a complex procedure which takes into consideration not only the needs of the individual child, but frames those needs in the context of the larger classroom group. In each class we strive for a balance of learning styles, a balance of gender, a balance of learning needs and a cross-section of abilities. The current teachers of a grade, support staff and administration all take part in the process. If you as a parent wish to provide input, please take into consideration the following guidelines:
Registration packages will be going out shortly. Please be advised that Elementary Summer School is a 3 week program, running from July 4th to July 22th from
8:30 am—12:30 pm (Monday to Friday), open to students in grade 7 and 8 .
Input must be made in writing to the Principal no later than April 30th, 2016.
Submit requests in terms of educational contexts, e.g. your child’s learning needs/strengths/styles: information not already known to the school; best learning environment.
GRADE 8 CONFIRMATION
Please do not make requests for specific teachers as staffing is always tentative and changes can occur up until the second week of September when staffing is finalized.

The Grade 2 students of St. Veronica will celebrate the sacrament of First Holy
Communion at 10:00am on Saturday,
April 30th at St. Francis Xavier Church.
Please let us know if you are planning on moving to a new location and your children will not be

St. Veronica School and the School Council are planning our first Skip-A-thon for all our students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 on Friday May 6 th . The purpose of this fun event is to generate funds for a variety of school purposes including purchasing outdoor games/activities to promote physical activity and healthy living.
Every $5 brought in = One Entry into the Grand Prize Draw.

Make a Joyful Noise! Primary Craft Club

Our primary craft club was busy this week spreading the Easter joy by creating wooden spoon
Easter chicks. Students worked hard painting and decorating wooden spoons to resemble a little
“peep”. Special thanks to our grade 4 and 5 volunteers that assisted with the craft.

Chess Club at St. Veronica
Easter season and we will see you in late spring for our last craft.
Primary, junior and intermediate club have enjoyed their participation at lunch for the past two months. We have a good group that is enjoying the participation with a splash of competition for students who are competing to become one of the skilled members that get to go on and represent
St. Veronica at the chess tournament. We will choose five members for each of the primary, junior and intermediate division to represent us on March 31st at St. Gertrude School.
Parents are invited to come to St. Gertrude on that day to support their children and St. Veronica community.
