ABSTRACT
Stem cells are found in all types of tissues and have the potential to grow new healthy
cells. Human embryological tissue has been and continues to serve as the source for
research materials. The majority of stem cells had come from aborted fetuses.
Opposition to stem cell research mainly comes from religious and social conservatives
who are pro-life and have recruited political backing. Stem cell research has come to a
stand still in the United States because of religious and political views. The research of
stem cell research is to eventually learn how to replace diseased tissues, through
regenerative medicine.
