Father Clair Tipping School
Learning Plan
The mission of Father Clair Tipping Catholic Elementary School is to provide a place for children to develop their faith and to increase their knowledge of Christ, as they grow as learners and builders of Christian communities.
Through a co-operative partnership among the school, family and the church, every learner has the opportunity to become a valued and contributing member of society who grows in self-esteem and self-confidence within a caring, inclusive and respectful environment.
"Achieving, Believing & Caring"
Father Clair Tipping Catholic School, which is at 25 Mountainberry Road, opened on February 22, 1999, and was blessed on May 6, 1999. The school was named after Fr.
Clair Tipping, who was pastor of St. John Fisher Church from 1969 to 1980. Father Clair Tipping helped begin youth groups and took an active role in involving adolescents in the parish. Saint Cecilia is the patron saint for our school community. She is the patron saint of musicians, composers and instrument makers. Her feast day is celebrated at the school on November 22nd. At present, the student population is approximately 372 and reflects the rich diversity of Brampton North. The school lives and works by its motto, “Achieving, Believing and Caring.” The school believes that providing children with a forum to develop their faith and increase their knowledge of Christ helps them to continue to grow as learners and builders of Christian communities.
Throughout the school year, different students are recognized for their faith commitment to our Catholic Virtues and receive a “Living My Faith Award” . The staff is actively involved in their own faith development through the Faith Ambassadors program. The school community, with the School Council, actively supports the needy in the community through food drives for the Knight's Table, the Helping Hands Ministry at St. Marguerite d’Youville Parish and through other initiatives that support organizations such as ShareLife and the United Way.
