GRADING POLICY AND PROCEDURES FOR HEALTH EDUCATION CLASS
I.
EARNING POINTS
A. Grades for health are recorded all four marking periods. Your report card
grades are based on the number of health points you earn during the
marking periods. The letter grades are determined as follows:
A = 90-100% of total possible points
B = 80-90% of total possible points
C = 70-79% of total possible points
D = 60 – 69% of total possible points
Less than 59% of total possible points = Failure
B. Each graded activity is given health points. The sum of all the points is
used to determine your grade percentage.
II.
ACTIVITIES
The following will be used throughout the year as assessments:
required health notebook, discussions, class participation, group work,
projects, vocabulary, health games, worksheets, tests, quizzes, reports,
homework, current health magazines and computer work.
III.
TEST AND QUIZ POLICY
Test and quizzes will be used as part of the assessment process. They will be
passed back in a timely manner. Students who received below a 70% will
have a chance to re-take their test/quiz or correct their mistakes to earn up to a
70%.
IV.
HOMEWORK
Homework is given occasionally and is due back the next class period. If a
student is absent the assignment is due the next time he/she has health.
