Monfort College of Business
Accounting
Bachelor of Science, Business Administration
In today’s business environment, an accounting professional doesn’t
just crunch numbers. They serve as an integral part of a business
organization, helping it achieve success. Students in the Accounting Emphasis will develop technical skills in financial accounting,
auditing and tax and accounting systems, which will be invaluable
in helping you reach your goals. You’ll learn how to think critically,
strategically and globally. You’ll conduct accounting research to
answer challenging business questions and learn how to communicate the answers to a range of business professionals. In addition,
you’ll gain valuable knowledge and practical experience in ethical
implications in accounting and business.
Learn from seasoned faculty with solid experience
Our award-winning faculty is comprised of dedicated professors who thrive on
interacting with students and helping you achieve your potential. Most serve or
have served on regulatory and professional boards and are active in both state
and national professional accounting organizations. Because of these activities,
our faculty knows what’s going on in accounting and brings that real-world
experience to the classroom. The faculty knows the firms and the
people who hire accountants. As a result, most of our students
are placed in accounting positions within the first three months of
graduation, with many receiving job offers during their senior year.
Through a variety of teaching methods including classroom, on-line
and experiential learning, our faculty will prepare you to join the
accounting and business world.
