Dutch Level 1
Prerequisite for entry
For complete beginners or those who have had only very little contact with the language.
Term duration
10 x 2-hour classes.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of the course is to enable students to function at a basic everyday survival level
(basic vocabulary, grammar and phonetics). Students should be able to communicate in
and understand Dutch on a number of practical everyday matters.

Buying everyday items
Asking for and telling the time
Asking and indicating ‘when’
Asking and identifying places in relation to other items
Asking and answering yes and no questions
Asking and telling what people are wearing
