Current Prerequisite/Corequisite/Catalog Description: Basic concepts and skills related to the professional domains of
the athletic training profession. Arc certification in first aid and cpr and overview of career opportunites are included.
Prerequisite: Athletic training (ATTR) major.
Catalog Description (edited): Basic concepts and skills related to the professional domains of the athletic training
profession including basic modalities and rehabilitation, research, ethics, palpations, and blood borne pathogens. Moderate
to advanced Skills training in padding, splinting, wound care, equipment, bracing, tapings, wrappings, spine immobilization,
and basic assessment techniques. Prerequisite: Athletic training (ATTR) major.

Explain the purpose for this proposal:
THis proposal revises course content, description and title. The purpose of this revision is to align the content of this course
with the newly revised intro to clinical I (ATTR 15001) so that students in the pre-professional phase of the ATTR program
can have a smoother progression into the professional phase by balancing the ICAT I and ICAT II competencies and skills.
Contact hour changes are made to reflect the lecture lab attribute of this course.

This will not change the requirements of the overall program and the course credit stays the same. It is a majors only
course thereby there will be no impact as students already have to take this course currently.
